If you use Windows XP, here are some printing tips.

Printing on VPP printers

• To install a Smb2vpp printer go to Start -> Run..., then type file://smb2vpp.ee.ethz.ch (or just click on this link). Now a new window with all vpp printers pops up. Just double click to install the selected printer. You can do this as a restricted user.

A safe way to print an A1 color poster

A safe way to print an A4 color document on 200g paper in duplex

Printing an A3 poster from a Word document that is in A4 format

• Don't have any content too close to the edges of your A4 page, since the printer doesn't print the edges. (One time, a margin of 1.2 cm at the bottom of my A3 poster was white. The other margins are smaller but not zero.)
• Install the VPP printer ETZx-CLC1150 using the explanation at the top of this HTML page.
• Set the print-dialog settings (see example below).

Printing an A0 poster from Adobe Acrobat Professional 6

• Install the VPP printer ETZSPx-HP755 using the explanation above
• Set the Acrobat print-dialog settings (see example below).

Alternatively, if paper size A0 is not available:

Diss Printing: Exam Version

• ETFE109-X4500

• Page scaling: None

• Print on both sides: None

• Page size: A4

• Scaling: 141 %

• VPP media: white

Diss Printing: Matlab to eps

• File - Export Setup: select 'expand axes to fill figure'

• Save As: select '.eps'
